Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 21, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 21, 2026

Kindling ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Vorisek Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Kindling mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

By using Kindling you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. You may optionally provide a display name.

Task and productivity data. All data you enter into Kindling — task titles, notes, scheduled dates and times, estimated and actual durations, task steps, completion history, and categories — is stored on our servers to power the app.

Routine data. Morning, evening, and custom routines you create — including step titles and durations — are stored with your account.

Task attempt history. When you start, complete, skip, or abandon a task, we log that attempt including the time spent. This data powers your personal time-estimation insights and the Stats screen. It is never shared.

AI usage. When you use the "Help me start" AI breakdown feature, the task title and optional notes are sent to our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API. We track a daily request count per user solely for rate limiting (20 requests/day). We do not store the content of AI responses beyond what you save as task steps.

Notification preferences. Your nudge level (gentle, normal, or firm) and quiet hours are stored with your profile.

Device and usage data. We may collect anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage statistics to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate your account and keep your data secure
  • To process subscription purchases and manage your plan
  • To send push notifications you have opted into
  • To personalize time estimates based on your task history
  • To respond to support requests
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your task content or productivity data for advertising targeting.

3. AI Task Breakdown (Anthropic Claude)

When you use "Help me start," the task title and optional notes you've entered are sent to Anthropic's Claude API via our Cloudflare Worker proxy. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy. We transmit only the task title and notes — no account identifiers are sent to Anthropic. We do not store the AI-generated steps server-side; they are returned to your device and saved only if you choose to keep them.

Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

4. Subscriptions and Payments (RevenueCat)

Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. We receive confirmation of your subscription tier and its validity period; we do not receive or store payment card numbers or billing details. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Free-tier users may see a banner ad served by Google AdMob on the Tasks screen. AdMob may use your advertising ID and other signals to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). AdMob's privacy practices are governed by Google's privacy policy. Pro subscribers see no ads.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your account data and productivity content are stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Access to your data is protected by row-level security rules — only your authenticated account can read or modify your tasks, routines, and history.

No security system is perfect. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account), we permanently delete your tasks, routines, history, and account record. This action is irreversible. Backups may retain your data for up to 30 days after deletion before being purged.

  • Cloudflare — Worker proxy, Pages website hosting

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (via in-app account deletion or by contacting us)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

To exercise these rights, use the in-app account deletion feature or contact us at the address below.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If changes are material, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
